HHC BASICS+ Workshops

Workshops are
customized to meet individual needs. A HHC BASICS+ Workshop can
be delivered in a single, half-day (three-hour) session or can be expanded
with greater detail in two, half-day sessions as described:
Session 1 :
Personal Handheld Computing
This half-day (three-hour) session introduces the workshop, its
objectives and materials. Handhelds are unboxed and personalized.
Participants learn to input information into their handheld computer. They
learn to "beam" information between handhelds and to manage
handheld computer data.
In Session 1 participants engage in the following:
- Getting Started " In the Palm of Your Hand"
- Personalizing Your Handheld Computer (HHC)
- Inputting Data (mini-keyboard, graffiti, keyboard & desktop)
- Creating and managing Address information
- Creating and managing Calendars
Curricular and administrative HHC applications examined in each workshop
are custom selected for the audience by the handEman©.
Session 2 :
Personal Information Management
This half-day (three-hour) experience expands the use of the Calendar
application and examines TO-DO lists, Memos and Notes. Participants also
learn how to synchronize data between handhelds and desktops and to download
applications from the Internet.
In Session 2 participants engage in the following activities:
- Calendar Revisited
- PALM Desktop
- School Applications & The Palm Handheld
- TO-DO Lists
- Memos & Notes
- Summary, Evaluations, and Action Plans
